How to Avoid Crowds When Leaving Comiket

Comiket is most crowded when people leave.
Everyone arrives at different times, but most people leave around closing time,
creating extremely heavy congestion.

Comiket closes at 16:00 on the final day and 17:00 on other days.
The 1–2 hours around closing time are the most crowded,
especially at the train stations, where entry restrictions may occur.

Both the Rinkai Line and Yurikamome become extremely crowded

If you are heading toward Shimbashi via Yurikamome,
we recommend using **Ariake Station**, which is next to Kokusai-Tenjijo-Seimon Station
and often easier to board.

Leaving later is more comfortable

Instead of rushing to the train right after closing,
you can relax and eat at the TFT Building.
By around 19:00, the crowds ease significantly.

Key Tips to Survive Comiket (What to Avoid)

  • Eating during Comiket is uncommon—most people avoid meals during the event
  • Women’s restrooms are extremely crowded (often compared to “top-tier circles”)
  • International visitors may misunderstand the event if they expect typical convention behavior

Because of this, it’s best to eat while waiting in line before entering,
and minimize restroom visits as much as possible.
A bit of mental preparation goes a long way.

Conclusion: Comiket Becomes More Fun the More You Prepare

Your first Comiket will be full of surprises and discoveries.
By understanding these six essentials,
you’ll enjoy a smoother, safer, and far more exciting Comiket experience.
